Cat Breeds: The Ragdoll Cat

0

So I was watching Jeopardy of all things today and the answer to one of Alex Trebek’s questions was Ragdoll Cat.

I didn’t know such a thing existing but I immediately set about looking for what exactly a Ragdoll cat is and what I found was very interesting.  Turns out the Ragdoll is specifically bred to be a big, friendly cat.  They LOVE their humans and are very affectionate.

Now my Pomegranate is not a Ragdoll cat, but he does have a lot of those traits, especially the part about being affectionate.  I’ve never known such an affectionate cat, but it sounds like a Ragdoll cat might just give Pom Pom a run for his money.

Cat Breeds:  The Ragdoll Cat

“The ideal Ragdoll is a well balanced cat, with no extreme features. Altered males will usually top the scale at 15-20 pounds; females are proportionately smaller and usually weigh between 10-15 pounds at maturity. Ragdolls are slow-maturing, reaching full coat color at two years, and full size and weight at four.”

Isn’t that interesting?  It’s a very friendly breed that is very affectionate towards humans.  I think this might be a great cat for a family to have, don’t you?
